History

Il Maderno was opened in the unparalleled scenery of the Hotel Parco La Borghesiana. The beauty and unusualness of this regal estate, set at the foot of the Castelli Romani, have contributed to creating a premises concentrated on offering good cuisine, prestige and important events.

Prestige and fame characterise this building, starting with the name, Borghesiana, strongly reminiscent of the seventeenth-century, Roman Borghese, the noble family recognised for its high profile characters, Pope Paul V, Cardinal Scipione and Paolina Borghese, to name but a few.

Restaurant Plate “Il Maderno” in RomeA style willingly reflected in the name itself and in the history of the restaurant. The name “Maderno” celebrates the Baroque architecture, recognised for his masterful and important architectural works, such as the facade of St. Peter’s in Rome, completed under the Bourgeois Pope.

This was the origin of the “Il Maderno” logo which clearly evokes the Roman "way, synonymous with solidity, strength and stability, yet at the same time full of elegance, just like the philosophy that fills the premises.

The brand is composed of the first two letters "IL" with the year of foundation placed over them in Roman numerals (A.D. 2009). The letter "M" has both linking points impressively pointing outwards, while the back of the letter "D" blends to form the letter "P" of "HP", La Borghesiana brand. This brand has a noble and impressive tone which, with an elegant line and formation, is based on the solid foundations of the location that forms the backdrop for Hotel Parco La Borghesiana.
